Sistas Organizing to Surive Webcast

In an effort to address the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS among Florida’s black women, the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of HIV/AIDS is pleased to announce the Sistas Organizing to Survive (S.O.S.) live webcast.  The telecast will be held June 17, 2010, at 2:30 p.m.  Viewers will have an opportunity to participate during the telecast by phoning their questions in to the panelist.

The objectives of this telecast/webinar are to:

  • Educate black women about HIV/AIDS and other diseases affecting black communities;
  • Empower black women to take charge and control of their sexual health;
  • Recommend strategies to increase HIV testing among black women;
  • Connect black women to HIV/AIDS resources;
  • Share best practices to reach black women;
  • Offer tools to enable black women to educate others where they live, work, play and worship.
