Some of the ways we all can help fight stigma is to talk openly about HIV/AIDS. Individuals livings with HIV/AIDS need to stand up and speak out this is the only way others will be able to see people living with HIV/AIDS that come in all ages, sizes, colors and ethnic background. Many people still believe HIV/AIDS has a certain look. It is time to get out of the closet and take control of our destiny. People living with HIV/AIDS is everywhere in the workplace, restaurants, shops, Doctor’s office, Lawyers office. There is no look and we need to make the public aware of this. STAND UP!! STOP STIGMA!!

I truly feel the one certain way to stop the stigma is acknowledging there is no look to this disease. It is time for community and civic leaders across the country to respond to this epidemic as if it is Genocide! This stigma will stop the reproduction of the next generation. Stigma stops where outreach begins. REACH OUT AND EDUCATE SOMEBODY ON THE TRUTH ABOUT HIV/AIDS LETS MAKE THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE BECAUSE WE CAN

We need more broadcasting more on HIV/AIDS approach through the radio stations that minorities are listening the most. We need to teach our people the acceptance of this disease and self-acceptance as well. We need more people to come out very opened about their status and share their experiences. Tolerance must be another way to reach out by teaching people how to be tolerant. HIV doesn’t have a face, it doesn’t go by your color, your age, your sex or by the club you are a member or the church you are getting involve. Every one of us got touched by HIV/AIDS. It is time for everyone to work collective to stop this epidemic. As a Medical Health Educator I see every day what HIV/AIDS is doing and has been doing to my fox. It is time to rise up and march together, think together, work together to end this disease. How will we be able to protect our children from HIV/AIDS if we don’t start right now? HIV/AIDS can extinct your family, your career, your ego; HIV/AIDS can do lots of damage to our population and it has been doing it. What are we waiting for? It is a call for change; it is a wake up call. We have to break the barriers that are stopping us from accessing medical services. We need to remember that we have a mission, social, spiritual and cultural. We have to see HIV/AIDS on different angles of this society.

    Hello Sista’s!!l!
Those powerful women out therre living with the virus are mentoring our new HIV+ women that are just coming out and talking about living with it. Pass the Baton, mentor and support them as they come forward. Do not let them fall and help pick her up is she does. National HIV testing day is coming up-speak up and encouage testing for HIV. For those out there reading this and living with HIV or AIDS, remember you are LIVING!! while you are living, make a difference. We need you now more than ever. We will help strengthen you, just reach out. You have the strenth already, now let us feed you with some fresh cold water to quench that thirst. Once you get thirsty for this movement, their is nothing that will stop you- be brave, be strong because the sisterhood is strong. We love you and we are waiting, our sista’s need you. Your story is important to us.
