![]() Community planning involves you and other people from your community. The idea behind community planning is to bring people together to spread the word on how HIV and AIDS are affecting your community; to find out what needs to be done to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS and to help those already infected; and to create a plan of action for your community. The Florida Comprehensive Planning Network (FCPN) is a statewide group that gives advice to the Florida Department of Health on matters related to HIV prevention and health care issues. The goal of the group is to get communities involved and to make them stronger in their fight against HIV disease. The group meets to share ideas and to learn from each other so that communities can strengthen prevention, patient care, and hepatitis services. Your voice can be heard with community planning. Community planning works because your needs and your ideas of what will work in your neighborhood are used in deciding what to do and how to use money that is available for HIV/AIDS prevention and services. By becoming involved, you can make a real difference in your community. To find out about your local HIV/AIDS Community Planning Partnership, call the Florida HIV/AIDS hotline or click here. |
